We have all heard of painting old paneling . . .
I have certainly done my share and it turns out great as long as you prime and paint correctly. However, I stumbled upon another idea today over at Better Homes and Gardens website and I thought I would share…
Unlike painting, whitewashing will still let the pattern of the wood show through allowing an element of texture which would highlight a beachy or cottage style room. Other accents like a woven mat or tray also add interest.
So, before you grab the paint can, think twice about the look you want to achieve. Whitewashing is ages old.. even Tom Sawyer did his fair share. Here’s a short tutorial on how to whitewash.. How to Whitewash Paneling.
Remember.. use your imagination, repurpose and have fun!
