1941 Kitchen Makeover

The kitchen in our old 1940’s saltbox house is a galley or corridor kitchen, typical of the era when formal dining rooms were used.  The last two pictures of the slideshow are the “before” ones showing the old green painted cabinets and outdated wall paper.  The custom made cabinets and trim were painted a bright white, the walls were painted an apple green, a new microwave cabinet from IKEA was installed above the stove and a new Hunter ceiling fan was hung.  The old stove was detailed out to show its vintage charm and antique collections are displayed on the countertops and shelves.  Paint and supplies, fan, light fixture, and cabinet came to about $650.00.
